The Longhorn Battalion is Lennard High School’s Army JROTC program, led by LTC Dietz and SFC Mainor. Through classroom instruction and hands-on training, cadets develop leadership, discipline, teamwork, character, and responsibility. Cadets may choose to participate in Raiders, Color Guard, or Drill. The student-led program follows a chain of command modeled after the U.S. Army. Founded in 2011 by LTC Procter and MSG Bailes, the battalion has grown to more than 160 cadets. Our mission is to prepare students for success after high school—whether in the workforce, college, or the military. Interested students can visit Room 613 to speak with LTC Dietz or SFC Mainor.
